Considering the enormous variety of metals and alloys used in today’s advanced manufacturing environment, your choice of brazing materials is more important than ever before.
Lucas-Milhaupt has a comprehensive inventory of alloys, fluxes, and forms for virtually any metal joining requirement. Brazing and soldering materials are available in a wide variety of forms including wire, rod, preformed rings and foil. They are also available in an atomized powder for blending with binder systems for making pastes.
Paste products consist of an atomized filler metal powder, a flux (when necessary) and a binder to hold the components together. Pastes, like preforms are advantageous because with the correct dispensing equipment, tight control can be made on material usage. This can reduce your unit costs and yield consistent high quality joints. Additionally, one paste product could be suitable for a wide variety of joint configurations. Paste can also be formulated to behave differently during the heating cycle. Flux is critical to the brazing and soldering process because it minimizes the oxidation that many form on both the brazing filler metal and the materials being joined.
When our extensive off-the-shelf inventory does not meet your exact requirements, you can rely on our technical support team for a solution that will provide you the highest quality and best value.
